Very quiet and maintained. Nice walking trails. Staff we encountered were very polite and helpful . For $7.00 per car best investment

It's a body of water in Florida. Yes there are alligators.
No overnight camping opportunities for this facility; however, the pavilions and picnic tables complement the playground, swimming, and hiking for a great day trip. Be sure to explore our other parks and recreation facilities, even sort them for camping, on our directory: https://parks.marionfl.org/our-department/park-directory!
Yes you can. There are 2 spots. One on the little lake weir side (calmer water and less water craft traffic) and one right next to them boat ramps. There are also playgrounds for the kids
Our summer hours are in effect: 7 a.m.-8 p.m. For accurate information about Carney Island, visit our parks directory: https://parks.marionfl.org.

Please call the park service in Ocala/Marion County.
No, not yet. It is funded by donations and they still have to clear a road access and parking lot area. They are hoping to get the funds and be able to open it within the next year or two.
