We’ve been renting violins from this store for over a year now. The store is small and clean, but they have a good variety of string instruments. The staff are friendly and helpful. They helped us pick the right violins which are suitable for our needs. Doing business with them is easy. If you want to change from renting to purchasing, you get some credit towards the sale payment. Highly recommend!

Yes!
You are welcome to bring it in for more info but it sounds like you have a violin made by the Nicolas Parola shop of a Stradivarius pattern.
Hello, There can be quite a range depending on how well it functions, how long you expect it to last and budget. A decent beginner violin is usually in the $300 to $900 range. A small price difference can be a big difference in quality, sound and playability. The main things are how well it stays in tune, how easy it is to play and how long you expect it to last. A better instrument is much easier to play and learn on. A very low end instrument can make it incredibly difficult to learn. Depending on budget if your just starting I would recommend in the 500 to 600 ish range. Good quality hand made, hand varnished and properly set up start about that. We have violins from under $100 range to over $100000.00 in stock. Factory made are less expensive. Individual handmade is more. Just depends on budget and get the best instrument for the money. We can help you decide what fits you best. You can always trade it in for credit later towards your next one as you go. Thanks!

Hello Brian, Sure, turn around time can depend on how much repair work it needs but some things are same day or could be up to a week. Most are usually 2-3 days for multiple repairs. Typical needs for an instrument that has been sitting for years would be new strings, possibly a new bridge, a soundpost adjustment and sometimes the seams come open. Strings are just the cost of the set you choose, we put them on and tune for free. So it ranges from about $17 up to $125 depending on what you choose. A good set of students synthetic gut strings range around $35 and a good set of professional strings range $50 to $80 for most. A typical repair range for something like this which has a few needs is $100 to $400. Cracks in the top or such could increase that. We give free repair estimates so stop in when you get a chance or we now also offer a video chat appointment for an estimate with a Luthier. Just let us know how we can help you. Thanks!
