The service was slow when we went (Sunday 3pm). The waitress was doubling as bartender, which takes quite a bit of time. They shouldn’t have bartenders waiting on tables or waitresses making drinks. It slows down service a lot. The place was only 30% full, but it was still slow because of that. The food itself was bland. Their salsa is tomatoes and 1/4 leaf of cilantro, no onion, no seasoning. Steak fajitas for two costs $28. There was 6oz of unseasoned strip steak (cut into little strips) buried in a pile of unseasoned green peppers and onions. Alongside that is a big serving of flavorless refried beans and flavorless rice. That was the big problem. Nothing had seasoning, not even salt and pepper, let alone chili or aromatic spices. I asked if they have agua fresca, because it isn’t listed on the menu. The waitress said they did and listed fruit flavors. I ordered a $3.50 mango agua fresca. It was an over sweetened mango juice (used as a mixer for drinks) diluted with water. Why serve that? It’s ok to say, “No, we do not have agua fresca.” Don’t charge $3.50 for watered down drink mixer that has at least 4x more sugar than an agua fresca and no real fruit or flavor. This isn’t a one star, because the wait staff is nice, the food is cooked properly, etc. But the very bland food, slow service, and awful drink keeps this place from going above two stars.
