I established an appointment for a fasting blood test (confirmed in the system) and when I arrived was told "I was not in the computer' and would have to wait all day if necessary for a no show. As luck would have it, someone showed up early and I asked since there was a 5 minute interval before her appointment began, I could go before her. She agreed but the technician told her that if she gave me this 5 minutes this patient would have to wait until an opening showed up, if or when...I am elderly, was fasting, had driven to the appointment in good faith. The technician was rude, rigid in her application of the rules, told me that since I was not in the computer there is no way she was willing to help me. I give this technician low marks. Which is surprising, as our previous experience with this lab service has been positive.

The tech was fine at collecting specimens, but sent the wrong lab order redoing a lab that was done in November instead of the recent order my Dr had sent for a totally different test. What gives? Also, my account information was not accurate, not a surprise, but its really unlikely I was the one who put in the wrong birthdate for myself in the years I’ve been using quest. Having me verify only the spelling of my name does not help catch these kinds of errors. The appointment system & MyQuest system do not appear to link well which is obnoxious when trying to use this website to view results or appointment times. This is basic corporate standards of service in 2022-get better at this! They had old insurance in their system for my children, because their system didn’t have a name that matches my insurance company name well even though it’s BCBS, like really? So not being able to enter new insurance info only because the name of my insurer couldn’t be found is bananas-since they tried to bill a different insurance, with an old address & never asked for me to verify my kid’s info which would have caught the issue. So who knows where the bills went & there is no way to get in touch with the person inside the lab draw location because the phone tree is a circle of menus that don’t lead to the local tech. So much for keeping issue handling at low levels & providing direct feedback so that errors can be corrected for future patients. Just annoying & not convenient having a local draw station because of these things that fall through the cracks. Also, I got stuck helping the Safeway cart retrieval lady because she had blocked me in the elevator & the tech marked me as more than 10 minutes late to my appointment. I was early. Checked in by the link, got the text she was ready for me at 11:41 & was in her lab room by 11:45 with no one present in the draw station. I rechecked-in which of course is where I learned I had already been marked 10 minutes late for my 11:45am appointment. Sorry the Safeway store logistics made me ONTIME. I couldn’t not help the special needs lady huffing and puffing and slowly moving the shopping carts to where they belonged in the store via the elevator. My delay allowed her to get to a walk in customer which pleased him, but whatever. People’s expectations are what they are.

HORRIBLE! Will never use Quest Diagnostics for anything, not even if it’s free. Went all the way to Bethesda for a COVID test just to be told that the location has been out of nasal swabs FOR THREE DAYS. They didn’t bother to update any of the people waiting for COVID tests in the waiting room or send appointment cancellations. The pharmacist was nice and you could tell she was flustered about it too. Terrible service, terrible organization, not a place that cares about customers/patients.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD. Never in my life have I met a medical practitioner who is as rude, condescending, and unprofessional as the DIRECTOR posted at this location. I am completely baffled by the fact this woman not only still has this job, but works in the medical field at all! The day we had visited, my mother's primary doctor handed us a piece of paper stating we had to drop it off to Quest inside the Safeway location. Clearly our primary doctors office was busy, so we asked little questions and headed towards Safeway. The SECOND we step into the waiting room, this older African American woman yells from inside one of the medical rooms "YOU CAN'T COME IN HERE WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT." An elderly patient still in the practitioners chair, the needle just barely having left her arm. The practitioner comes up and I attempt to explain to her that my mothers primary doctor told us we had to drop this paper off. Within seconds the practitioner takes the paper from my hands, reads it, pull both the top & bottom of the paper to create an auditory SNAP in my face and proceeded to yell at me "THIS IS BLOOD AND URINE WORK. YOU ARE OVER AN HOUR LATE." Completely shocked from her behavior, I stutter as I attempt to explain to her that my mothers primary doctor only told us to drop off this paper here. Again, the woman yells "NO. THIS IS BLOOD AND URINE WORK & YOU'RE AN HOUR LATE", inches from my face (during a global pandemic may I add). I try to explain again, the doctor didn't inform us that we are to do blood and urine work today & they made the appointment 40 minutes before they even let us drive to Safeway which is why we are late. Instead of trying to listen or understand the position my mother and I are in, the practitioner decides to flick the paper in my face to make yet another auditory snapping sound and proceeds to scold us again "WELL THIS IS BLOOD AND URINE WORK AND YOU'RE LATE". Feeling frustrated, I use a more stern voice to speak over her, saying "AND NOW I KNOW THAT". She decides to ignore my defensiveness & motions to my mother that she can sit in her chair. After the altercation the practitioner takes my mothers blood & instructs her to go to the bathroom for the urine sample. The nurse approaches another young couple waiting their turn, only for me to witness the practitioner do the same thing to them! From what I can tell, the couple's doctor set up a random appointment & didn't inform the couple. It still didn't matter to the practitioner though! I stand there and proceed to watch the woman stand above the sitting couple, yelling at them just the same, snapping the paper towards the couple too! Unbelievable!!! Finally we leave. Being the protective daughter I am, I am fuming. One of Safeway's employee's let me know this woman is the DIRECTOR of the Quest Diagnostics at this location! It is still absolutely shocking to me that this woman has a license with the way she treats her patients. Who want's to be yelled at only to have a needle stuck into them?? I write this review a whole week after the instance in fear that the practitioner would tamper with my mothers samples. Luckily for them, our results did in deed come back but WOW! This mess of a visit was not yet over! My mother now has a bruise the size of a softball around where the needle was inserted. I attached photos below, yet again this is a week later & they are not as prominent anymore. Did she do it on purpose? Who knows. It's disappointing that this woman has that position of power to scare & intimidate her patients. I should not be afraid of this woman potentially tampering with samples. I should not be afraid of this woman sticking needles into a loved one, especially since my mother has a fear of doctors! I 10000000% recommend avoiding this location like the PLAGUE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Sorry, I may be responding to this question two days late. Yes, you can give urine in this Quest lab located in side Safeway.
You get it from the pharmacist, not Quest. I got both doses there. But it's hit and miss if they have it in stock. No appointment needed but call first to see if they have it.
