We picked up our sweet puppy, Ace, in June of 2021. His first vet visit was within a week. The following month, during a routine vet visit, it was discovered that Ace's top and bottom jaws were not lining up properly. The following month (August), during a follow-up visit, the vet and I agreed that the problem was getting worse and needed professional intervention. We took Ace to Animal Dental Center in Annapolis, Maryland, and he was diagnosed with a severe class 2 Malocclusion (please do your own research over the cause(s) of this condition). I do have the professional opinions of both the veterinarian and of ADC. His bottom jaw was over an inch shorter than his top jaw, causing his baby canines to poke into the roof of his mouth and make holes. His bottom jaw was also narrower than the top jaw. In order to give him a better quality of life, allow him to have proper mouth closure, allow him to eat properly, and to relieve him of pain and the possibility of loss of smell, we spent over $6,000 in treatment. This treatment included the extraction of his baby canines, the permanent removal of his top premolars, and a temporary appliance attached to his top adult canines and temporary extenders applied to his lower canines. They were able to force the bottom canines outward and into their permanent place behind the top canines. Our sweet boy was put under anesthesia several times for these procedures at a very young age. We are hoping and praying that his teeth will remain lined up and that no further treatment will be necessary. HOWEVER, his top and bottom jaws still remain at a 1-inch difference. We love our sweet Ace so much and are thankful we found the means to tackle these unexpected expenses. We were NOT reimbursed any monies from the breeder, including the $3,000 we paid for our pup and the $6,000 in dental expenses.

I have been searching for a German Shephard puppy since we have lost ours. Both my husband and I grew up with the normal back not the hump look. We found Denise through a friend of ours who has Chief from her. Our friend told us she only breeds straight back German Shepard's. When I talked to Denise you could hear the passion in her voice. We went and met her and all her German Shepard's, we were amazed on how friendly they were once they knew the command we were friends. We are now getting a puppy from her, just waiting to bring her home with us.
