This is a nice little park. The beach is composed of rocks, which is great for rock collecting and not great for walking barefoot. Bring some water shoes and a chair and you can enjoy this space quite comfortably.

So many beautiful rocks. Take water shoes and a bucket!!! Just watch your step !! Meet the nicest people rock hunting here !! Very helpful and friendly well worth 4 hr drive from Illinois! No sandy beach just fyi !!! Didn’t mind that with so many rocks to choose from

Hiking trails completely full of nature, beach for swimming right on Lake Michigan, history with cool historic sites, stream that runs all the way through breathtaking wooded area and end in Lake Michigan. Family fun!

Awesome michigan rock hunting without having to go way north! Small parking lot so make sure you go early on a hot day!

Yes, but do limit your dogs time on the rocky part of the beach, our 100 pound retriever ripped up her pads and couldn't walk for a few days after our visit
I've been there a couple times past 10 and never locked in but they have locked the beach during total beach flooding.
