Delightful visit, friendly reception, clean, huge history collection.

It is an excellent museum. The emphasis is on history from a very local perspective. For me, the best part of the building is the concert hall on the 2nd floor. There Sunday chamber music series is unique.

Interesting, small. Only $3.

Docents were very friendly and knowledgeable. Interesting history of the Civil War era in a contested town.

This museum is about the history of the City of Alexandria, Virginia.
Since it was built in 1837, no. If you Google "Lincoln lyceum speech," you'll find out that was at a Lyceum in Illinois.
