Now Hiring! All positions! This is a full service, industrial shipyard. They do everything from barge and vessel repairs to brand new ships. We build to the customers design and make sure the product that leaves is satisfactory to them. Passenger transport vessels, vehicle transport, cargo ships, Ferry boats, Dinner boats and barges. They have a line of 25' truckable boats that are selling faster and faster. They are little powerhouses with twin screw, Cummins engines, and lots of accessories when it comes to navigation and electronics. We even built one that had a pilothouse that raised up and down by way of hydraulics. We have undertaken New York City Ferry's. 150' Tugs with twin 4200HP caterpillar engines, some with winches, some with a pin system to lock into barges designed just for that. Baltimore water Taxi redesign. Fisher Island Ferry's. Currently starting a series of aluminum ferries for passenger transport. Needless to say, we can do it all, and do it with pride. Everyone there gives their all to make sure the customer leaves with a smile. It's a great place to work, but it takes a special breed of person to do it, not everyone is cut out for working here. If you have heard bad stories from former employees, it's the ones that couldn't adapt to the environment. Those that do are satisfied with their job, and have been there when they were needed. SJSB recently underwent a change in ownership, but the new owners didn't come in and create chaos, they listened to the employees and changes are being made to improve not only the yard itself, but the entire flow of how things work. I'm excited for the future of this place, we have already accomplished so much, yet we still keep working to improve the way the shipyard is run and the interaction between the management and other employees, and most of all the customer satisfaction.

Horrible people to work this was going to get a house made but had the worst time of my life dealing with these people. So rude to women and children.

Best to come to the office and ask for an application, they do have a website, though. They'll hire just about anybody that's willing to take the time to go up there and fill out an application.
