Accommodations are EXCELLENT and friendly Associates. If you don't live on a farm or have never been up close to horses, on a boat ride or never been to a world class Rodeo, you would enjoy. It was slightly boring to us.

This was fun, just hot!! We went in July so, that was on me but I was hoping to see a few more animals. The kids had fun though!

All westgate resort amenities are available to the public. You do not have to book them ahead of time but you can. The website for booking is cowboyactivities.com this will not be all of the activities just ones that reservations are available. So your swamp buggy, airboat, trap/skeet shooting, horseback rides. Other things such as petting farm, archery, catch & release fishing don't have the option to book ahead of time as they're all walk up. So again, booking ahead is an option but not required.
The petting zoo should be open normal hours on Christmas Eve and day if not extended hours due to the holiday.

The petting zoo is free to the public. They have llamas, ponies (for a child to ride you'll need to purchase a ticket), goats, sheep (but they are skittish & one has a deformity of hoof growing too fast. Feels like they aren't well taken care of), some ducks & geese, hens & roosters, a few pot bellied pigs, rabbits, & peacocks. They do have regular horses on display in morning. Horse riding tickets are available as well.
