Our 9 year old first away camp experience and we could not have asked for a better place. She’s raved about the counselors, the food, the activities and her new friends since she got home. We’ll definitely be coming back next year.

Hi Machete. Thanks for the question. Our summer camp programs are open to campers of all family backgrounds.

Is your camp on Elk Lake?

We are on the Elk River just north of the start of the Chesapeake Bay

I noticed the word resort. Is this also a place that a couple can come to for a relaxing time together? Can a couple rent something there to stay for a weekend or something?

Hi Kennedy! Thanks for your question. Although kids ages 8 to 16 come to our summer camp as individuals for one or two weeks at a time, all of our retreats are for larger groups of 75 to 600 guests. It would certainly be a lovely place for a couple to get away, but our housing is setup for 10-16 guests per room in most rooms. So events like a teen youth retreat for your church are exactly what we do in the spring and fall! Please check out the retreat section of our website at www.sandyhill.com/about-retreats for more information. We would also love to setup a camp tour for your church group at a convenient time for you. Thanks for reaching out!

Do you have to join in the Christian or religious activities to stay there?

I've been to the camp, there is grace at meals but it is by no means required. There is also worship service at times, but there's always something else to do. (I know this is late but it's just a definite answer)
