If I could give zero stars, I would! I have been a faithful client with H&R block, close to 7 years now. Last year, I had my taxes done and received a letter stating that I owed a large sum of money to NJ. When I asked my representative about it, she told me that it must be a mistake on their part as she reviewed my papers and assured me that everything was fine and sent in paperwork to resolve the miscommunication. This year I did my taxes on my own thru the H&R website as I felt that it was much more straight forward and in late March received a letter stating that I owed a large sum again! I called the Edison location and left weekly messages (3 weeks) and was reassured by the receptionist that the representative was busy and would absolutely return my call. After weeks of not returning my call, I decided to call again and make an in person appointment because I was getting nowhere. When I called, I was told that my representative was no longer working as tax season is now closed and that I would need to call the IRS to resolve the issue on my own. I was also told, by the receptionist that it must have been due to something I did on my part! I don’t understand why I bothered to pay for the protection plan when I end up doing all the leg work to resolve the issue. (Also, when I called IRS, they told me that H&R blocks “protection” plan is a SCAM!!!) What was the point in having a “professional” handle my taxes?! I will no longer be using H&R block and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone!!!

They do not even honor the appointment. They make you wait for hours and then shameless tell that they can't honor the appointment because staff did not come. I'm sure how I'd have a reply to this comment with a copy pasted text saying, please call Helpdesk!
