Get ready to be IMPRESSED by Dr. Philip “Flip” Clifford. I have never met an orthopedic or any doctor like Dr. Philip Clifford at OJRCA. Not only is he tops in the nation for surgeries without any complications, but his bedside manner is EXCEPTIONAL. Dr. Clifford performed both of my total hip replacements within two weeks of each other. I was home walking the evening after each surgery. Eight weeks later and I am without pain moving and doing things I haven’t done in years. I’m so excited and all thanks to Dr. Clifford’s expert hand with the assistance of his Amazing PA Mattie. Doctor Clifford is an OUTSTANDING surgeon and a genuinely kind human being. He’s compassionate, patient, calm and sincere. Dr. Clifford always took the time to talk with me and thoroughly answer ALL of my questions. He never rushed. He even gave me a hug when I was up after surgery. He really is SUPERIOR. I highly recommend Dr. Clifford if you’re having hip or knee pain. He is the Best of the Best! Once I called his office on a Friday afternoon and doctor Clifford answered the phone. He said that he will let the staff go home early on Fridays while he covers the phones. Who does that? What an EXCEPTIONAL doctor!! His office staff is wonderful too. Kim, the office manager is friendly, knowledgeable, kind and helpful. She has never kept me waiting. The longest I have ever waited was, at most maybe 10 minutes. Kim and the rest of the office staff is remarkable. Go see Dr. Clifford, you will most definitely be happy you did!

Dr. Clifford and his staff were top notch throughout the whole process! He took the time to get to know me, educate me about what all goes into hip replacement surgery and what to expect after. I am now 40 days post surgery and actively back in the "game" doing what I love, and WITHOUT PAIN. I'm forever grateful.

the best! Dr Clifford is extraordinary. I lived with pain and not being able to walk for many years and in fear of my hip replacement surgery and at the same time visiting different doctors but when I arrived at Dr Clifford's office he made me feel completely confident and that I was in good hands. Today, 5 months after having the surgery, I am walking without any pain thanks to him. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Philip Clifford completed a revision total knee replacement for my wife, and we couldn’t ask for a better surgeon. If you are looking for an excellent orthopedic surgeon, or even a second opinion, then please visit Dr. Clifford. First, some background on my wife’s situation: In July of 2021, my wife had a partial knee replacement completed by a different surgeon who tirelessly pushed that a partial knee replacement was the best course of action. The surgery did not go well. In fact, weeks and months after getting the partial knee implant, my wife was in worse pain than she was before the surgery. The surgeon who did this surgery did not take my wife’s complaints of pain seriously and we had no choice but to find another surgeon to diagnose and fix the problem. We visited two other surgeons about a revision surgery before seeing Dr. Clifford and immediately he stood out. Of all the surgeons we visited, Dr. Clifford took the most time with us, spending nearly one hour explaining what he saw and the best course of action. While many doctors gave a general diagnosis or provided vaguely worded answers to our questions, only Dr. Clifford went through all the X-ray and MRI images explaining step by step what was wrong. For example, he showed us where arthritis still remained in my wife’s knee and explained how to see it in an X-ray, and why the partial knee implant did not fix the problem. No other surgeon did this. Dr. Clifford was also the most empathetic and patient of the surgeons we saw. He took my wife’s pain seriously and, most importantly, he listens. He treats you like an equal. The original surgeon that did my wife’s partial knee replacement left a hideous purple scar. Of the three surgeons we visited for the revision, Dr. Clifford was the only surgeon who said he would be able to remove that hideous scar. I’m glad to report that he did, and my wife’s knee is healing beautifully. After surgery, Dr. Clifford also took the time to call that same night to check on my wife. I feel lucky that we discovered Dr. Clifford and his wonderful staff, and I am tremendously grateful for his skill as a surgeon. If you are on the fence about joint replacement surgery or if you need a revision or if you simply want a second or third opinion, then call his office and make an appointment with him. You will be glad that you did.

I am in the process of having my 20th surgery. I wasn't eligible for an outpatient procedure, however, I would highly recommend this surgeon and his team.

How much time needs to be set aside for recovert?

Jan Ryan | Sep 25, 2021
Outpatient Joint Replacement Center of America | Sep 25, 2021

Hi Jan. Everyone is different for their recovery and its a little different with knees vs hips. With both knees and hips you will need to do outpatient physical therapy 3x a week for 4-6 weeks, then it drops down to 2 times a week. We would be happy to discuss recovery for you specifically, just give us a call! (Everyone recovers at a different speed and everyone's idea of recovery/what they want to be doing varies).

How many knee replacements have you done?

Gregorio Paretas | Sep 25, 2020

Dr Clifford has done roughly 10,000 total knee replacements.
