Ranada Grossman
I got my most recent puppy from them and she is so precious. This is my second puppy from AARF and both were gems.

Go on aarfws.org and send an email or call. I foster for them.
We have had far too many dogs returned when undergraduates realize how much work a dog is. They have also been returned after graduation when the graduate has to move somewhere that can’t take dogs ( rental properties etc). You can always get a dog somewhere, we just haven’t had good experiences adopting to undergrads. We do love having responsible undergrads foster for us though!
Sometimes! We get our dogs from owner surrenders, strays, and area shelters mostly. We try to take animals from the Forsyth County Humane Society/Animal Control when they need us to do so, but we are not affiliated with them. We are an independent 501c-3 rescue group.
Check the web. Google for AARF. Their adoptables are usually listed.
Yes we can always use food!
Sorry to just now see this. We do not check questions coming in through google in time. Your best bet in the future is to call the phone line. I hope you were able to help the kitten get medical help.
Thanks for the question. As young as 16 with parental involvement. You can find more information about volunteering on our website. https://www.aarfws.org/volunteer-index
Yes, if living conditions are acceptable. Check the website for an application.
You are better off calling our phone line (336-768-7387) and leaving a message to be forwarded to the appropriate person. Someone will return the call. You do need to apply for a specific dog in the program already though. You can view our adoptable dogs at AARFWS.org. We don't keep waiting lists for specific breeds.
You have to be 16 or older.
Please call our phone line (336-7687387) and leave a message. Someone will reach back out to you about how to help the cat.
We are very careful about placing our animals in safe, loving, indoor homes. We are perfect for folks like you, who really care about where the dog goes..
I am not sure how AARF can help you with this problem. Perhaps you could speak to the cats' owners and ask them to contain the cats around the time of your mail delivery? Or perhaps you could try to meet the mail carrier at the mail truck?
I haven't seen any at the AARF house! We rescue cats and dogs. I think you may have us confused with someone else!
AARF runs with voulenteers
No. You can see our adoptable dogs on our website at aarfws.org. Good luck on your search! You may want to try a ShihTzu or small dog rescue group.
We do accept Pit Bull mix dogs at times, depending on whether they are a good fit for our program and space. We currently have several.
It depends on foster availability and compatibility with the program. You can call or email AARF to discuss.
AARF is amazing!! I donate there alot.
If there is enough space. Call the phone line and leave a message, and someone will call you back,
Not at this point. Check our website at aarfws.org to see our adoptable dogs
Yes, particularly the house cats during the week. Our Saturday dog adoption fairs can get busy, so we would prefer that you come after 2pm when the initial rush if potential adopters has calmed down.
We have puppies, but our adoption fee is $200. That covers chipping, spaying or neutering, first vaccinations, first Heartworm pull and 30 days of health insurance. You can see our puppies at aarfws.org if you are interested.
If you have a Facebook account you can go to the Aarf page, find the one that is for dogs, and someone from the dog team will contact you if you leave them a message. Or on the Internet you can type in aarfanimals.org
We show the cats indoors anyway, so they are not affected. The dogs show in the small building in back and sometimes the larger ones don't show. We can usually set up a private meeting with an approved application at a different time for those dogs.
If you can find them on Facebook they will respond faster
Best thing to do is call them directly.
You can call them or check with other rescues. You mightvwant to check with the Humane Society too.
You can see our adoptable dogs via our website aarfws.org. You can complete an on-line application and come meet the dogs on Saturdays from noon to 3pm in the backyard. You can also fill out an application at AARF (311 Harvey Street). The rest of the time, the dogs live in our foster homes.
I paid either $90 or $100. That covers care given prior to adoption. If not neutered, a voucher is provided.
You have to pay and need to have a veterinarian. The puppies have not had their shots yet. They are so cute there.
Call them up and see. If they can't take them ,may they can direct you to a rescue group.
Do your homework on this. Look up small dog breeds. Also ask questions there. Also define small and know that a lot of small dogs like to bark
I don't know if aarf will take them. If not, they may be able to help with where to take them. Good luck. Every animal deserves a loving forever home.
If you look at prices to totally vet your new kitten, you will find Aarf cats are good price..
Usually have dogs of all ages. Thanks for considering adopting.
Go to the Forsyth County Animal Control site. They have a way to list lost and found animals.
It is rare and usually for more difficult to adopt dogs. We try to rescue locally and find homes locally, in large part because we do home visits prior to completing an adoption.
