I go every year during the seasons and it is awesome. I saw some not so positive reviews. I've never been at the barn I have only gone straight to picking areas down the road. Never had a problem. Those workers have always been helpful and chatty. Nicer than people in general. With that being said I'm going tomorrow to start picking strawberries Now I drove all the way up there to pick Berries and the gate was closed but it said they were open. I had my granddaughter with me so we went to Appledales Down the street. Pretty disappointed

Cute little place to bring the family. They offer lots of things apples, pumpkins, wine, apple cider, popcorn, food and rides for the kids. The apples are a little expensive but you get the experience of getting to picking choose them …

Yes, there were Cortland's to pick when we went today.
They had Ruby Macs on Sunday September 12, as well as Golden Delicious and Honey Crisp. Also had raspberries and pumpkins.
I could be wrong but I’m fairly certain I saw a sign today saying they love dogs but no dogs allowed in the orchard. I guess I get it because you can’t trust everyone to be responsible enough to clean up after their pet and make sure they behave.

Usually mid September they open for early varieties.
The inside is open until Thanksgiving. The u-pick part is closed for the season. They do still have apples for sale inside though.
Best bet is to call and ask them.
...Because apples aren't free unless you grow them in your own backyard. A bag of apples at the grocery store is $5 for 2 pounds...or $2.50/lb. You are technically getting a discount by picking your own.
The admission is free, as well as the parking. There is a kids play area that is rocket based those you must purchase. The apples are all you can eat while in the orchard you only pay for what you want to bring home. A side note (because it happened to me) if you are driving from some distance away be sure to call and make sure that Apple picking is available. If they receive alot of rain they don't allow Apple picking due to the trails being too muddy.
