Our first trip to the Melting Pot in at least 13 years and it did not disappoint! Our server Ben was knowledgeable and super personable. It did seem like they might have been short staffed because Ben had to pick up at least one extra table which slowed him down a bit, but as a former sever I totally sympathize. This was our first experience at the Melting Pot with our sons and they loved every minute of it. Would definitely recommend!

Went on Mother’s Day. We sat at our table for over 10 minutes before anyone greeted us. Emma was our waitress. She was very friendly and informative but she did forget to bring the charcuterie we ordered. All the courses were good. I do think the teriyaki marinated steak was tough. The filet mignon was all of our favorite. I also would have liked clarified butter for the lobster tail. The manager (Tom maybe?) came by our table twice to check in on us. I thought we were waiting for our waitress between courses and she could have been more responsive but otherwise it was a fun experience.

My husband and I have come here for both of our wedding anniversary's, there is a lot of things we love about this restaurant! It's expensive but it's a whole experience with great food and you don't often (if ever) get a full course meal like they have to offer. The dessert is my favorite. The first time we went in 2021 was super nice and the waitress was wonderful. When we went recently 3/27/2022 it was still good but wasn't a great experience. Our waiter seemed rushed and we paid $12.95 for balloon bouquet, chocolate wafers and a photo but our picture was never taken or whatever they mean by picture so that was a bummer. Also, 2 or 3 of the tables near us, the waiter asked if he could grab them a couple more of their favorite dessert dippers which I was super hoping he would ask us since that is my personal fav but he never did. He was probably just being nice to the others!

The service was amazing - our waiter was absolutely the best! The cheese and chocolate was delicious (we had the cheddar and classic peanutbutter chocolate). And we did not leave hungry or wanting more. It was a lot of food. Cooking the meat at the table was a bit stressful though. We had the griddle, and I made the mistake of doing the herb crusted chicken first, which meant any crust that fell off to burn through the rest of the meal. Plus, it was kind of hard to time the meat and eat at the same time. I just don't think I would want to do that again, although the meat and sauces all tasted good! It was fun, and I have no real complaints, but probably will just be a one-time experience for us, as the cooking of the meat is just a bit overwhelming.

They posted the following: "We regret to announce that The Melting Pot of St. Louis - University City has closed for business indefinitely as of Thursday, April 9. The location has closed due to the franchise owner’s desire to retire, which was accelerated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate the opportunity to have served the University City community for over 20 years at this location."
