This was a great place for brunch. We started with a hike at the De Anza trail in SJB and decided to go to downtown Hollister for brunch. We were considering 3-4 places but this was the only place open on Labor Day. The wait was long and the heat was high but we were determined to wait. We had the famous and recommended by the waiter caled the "Mess" also known as the Potato Pile on the menu. I substituted the toast for a pancake. The pancake was very good. The "Mess" was really really good. I was really hungry coming here and barely managed to eat half of my plate. All the engredients made the dish ready good. My only request is I would put more peppers but again the dish was very tasty and very good. The staff were super busy but they did a great job at taking care of us in a timely manner. I will be coming back again for sure. Great job Country Rose Café.
