This is a very nice system of trails. It can be pretty hilly and rocky. The trails are very well maintained and marked fairly well. There is a lot of tree cover so it stays pretty cool even on hot summer days.

Nice hike through woods to stream and lots of cool rocks and plants and trees.

Excellent trail. A lot of rocks, so make sure of your footing.

Such a great area for hiking! Kids, pets, everyone has a blast at Rainbow Mountain. I would highly recommend as a family friendly outing. The kids love playing on all the rocks and trails. There is a little playground that is perfect for little ones as well.

All Land Trust nature preserves are open from dawn to dusk daily.
I'm not aware of a body of water large enough to fish from on Rainbow Mountain.
There ar markers on the trail and even boundary markers to let you know if you are leaving the property. The trails are all clearly marked and well maintained. We did the Rainbow loop with our 4 year old and it was an easy in and out hike.
There is a parking area at the trailhead - located at 230 Stoneway Trail, Madison, AL 35758.
No, not really. Seasonal brookes are scattered throughout the preserve but not likely to be flowing on the days that you really need to cool down your pooches.
Nope. If we get a lot of rain there is a mini waterfall but nothing to soak more than your feet in.
I would not recommend it. It is more of a hiking trail than campground area, and fires are a bad idea as well.
Yes. We go with my 10 year old, 8 year old, 4 year old and I wear my 6mo old in a wrap while hiking.
Yes it is allowed to hike without a guide. The trails are marked also. It is a short hike 😀 very enjoyable.
