As part of our stand on the authority of scripture, we do practice church discipline. However, we understand that church discipline is not to be used as punishment (God is the only judge) but as a tool that He gives us to gently restore those within our congregation that are openly (& unrepentantly) living a sinful lifestyle. We believe that church discipline is only reserved for those who are members of our local church who have placed themselves under our spiritual oversight. Church discipline is not excommunication but rather is a process used as last resort with someone who claims to know Christ but refuses to seek repentance for open and ongoing sin. After a long process with many attempts to lovingly restore them, we would remove them from membership as a sign that we are no longer responsible for their spiritual care. They are not "kicked out" and we encourage them not to stop attending (although often they already have). Hopefully this answers your ??. Pastor Chris Anderson
