Second City was instrumental in getting paperwork completely timely and under difficult circumstances. Jamar was a pleasure to work with and I would use him again in a heart beat.

Jamar is very helpful person and he took the time to make sure I understood everything and that the notary process was done correctly. He explained the process clearly for my international documents & very knowledgeable on the process and all legal documents.

Some of the things you should look for in a notary include: Proper Certification—Being a notary public requires obtaining a Notary Commission, passing a background check and gaining a certification. Make sure that your notary is certified to work in your state. Excellent Communication—You can’t underestimate the importance of communication in a good notary public. You should be able to easily reach your notary via your preferred method of communication whether that’s by phone or email. Once you connect, they should be able to clearly answer any questions you might have. Communication is not only key for answering questions you may have leading up to your notarization but also after you get your documents notarized if you need further clarification. Ability to Travel—In some circumstances, a notary’s ability to travel may not matter to you. But if you don’t have the time to travel yourself and your documents notarized asap, finding a mobile notary is a must.
No, notarization only verifies the identities of the signers. A notary is not liable for the accuracy of the contents of any document they notarize.
Being a notary does not give a person the authority to provide legal advice. The only reason why a notary can do this is if they are also an attorney.
When choosing a witness, you cannot select someone who is in the contract in any way like a spouse might be. They also cannot be a family member. Often, people use neighbors or friends as their credible witnesses
The state government appoints notaries to witness crucial moments like signing legal documents, administering oaths, and certifying document copies. It’s the notary’s responsibility to verify that the person signing the document is who they say they are by checking the signer’s identification. It’s also their job to make sure all signers are signing the contracts of their own free will.
