I grew up in this church , father Joe Baptized me and I was an alter server for father Anthony and deacon Jim ❤️🙏🏽 I’ve never found another church I was comfortable in and I truly miss coming here ! Sister Mary was wonderful as well and the whole church is family oriented I absolutely loved this place !

No

In what year was the church built. There is a question on "Ilion Remembers" about a church "Ave Maria" parish located on E. Main Street. Folks are trying to figure out what happened to it and when. There is a photo of the current Rectory as well.

The current church was built in 1937. The parish was established in 1868 though. There must have been a different church at some point. The convent was previously at 73 First Street. The school was built in 1925, so it is likely the convent served some other purpose prior to being a home for the teachers. It was built around 1880.
