Saturday 6/11/22 at 10-11 am. Spent over 200$ on lumber. Had issues finding what I had paid for and had to ask employees working the yard for help. Pulled up to three employees in the covered area and asked if I could get some help. Very rudely I was asked . What do you want, from someone sitting on a fork truck. After being educated on how big the yard was and that I just over looked it and getting into a verbal argument with an employee. That was telling me I was rude in the way I asked for help??? I drove off and looked again for the part number assigned to the lumber I just purchased. One of the employees started yelling at me across the yard and waving for me to come back. I drove back to the covered area just to be told that it was about 20 feet from the three employees in the covered area. Parked the truck climbed the steps then being yelled directions on the location of the lumber by two employees and the third smiling at the show. Never again Menards. I can understand being short handed. I get it!!! But to be talked to the way we got talked to was pathetic. Management needs to step up or is that the issue?? Monday 6/13/22 needed a pressure washer went to Walmart. This coming Saturday we need more lumber going to Lowes.

Purchased materials to pick up the next day, upon arriving to pick up I realized they 1) rang me up for the completely wrong item 2) instead of 8 I paid for 18!! (Lumber is not cheap these days. Then to put the icing on the cake the manager informed me Bloomington had it and I could go there. (I thought no biggie) until I got all the way to Bloomington and found out I have to do the return at the original store of purchase! Are you kidding?! I was a bit livid. However it seems this happens often bc Bloomington was familiar with the situation and apologized for Columbus’ mess up! Now I’ve wasted half the day driving and I’m still not even done! I called Columbus and they literally all were like ‘oh yeah, I’ll connect you’ NO apology no let me fix this, NOTHING! I wouldn’t waste your time dealing with those folks.

Prices are higher than Rural King on just about everything. They're also deceptive in that the listed prices are "after rebate," but these people don't do instant rebates, they want you to remember to take a special piece of paper when you leave so you can fill it out manually, attach you receipt to it, and mail it to their corporate office. Then wait to get a store card back in the mail. Having grown up in the 90s, I'm no stranger to this process, but this isn't the 90s. And I'm not mailing a frikin rebate form for a couple bucks. This is why I'm considering it deception to list prices "after rebate" for items which aren't worth your time to file for a rebate in their required methodology. Maybe if I went in there and bought hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise at once, but I rarely do. Mostly it's just "here's and there's" as needed, and it's a pain to have to pay extra close attention to their price tags to run up a total in my head as I shop.
