The doctor was great. However, good luck getting someone to answer the phone to get an appointment. I’ve been calling for 3 days.

When in their Lauderhill office, staff is friendly and helpful. Getting them on the phone is a whole different story. I have called 32 times within 5 days leaving numerous messages and have yet to hear from them😡. In the past a few times my call was dropped while being transferred to another extention, then I can't get a hold of them afterwards nor will they call back. So I give them only 1 star for their office staff being so inefficient .

What’s included in your torn biceps treatment and torn triceps treatment?

All-Pro Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Lauderhill | Sep 21, 2022
All-Pro Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Lauderhill | Sep 23, 2022

Here at All-Pro Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Florida, our doctors will work with you to develop a treatment plan best suited to your particular condition. Both torn biceps treatment and torn triceps treatment may be done in several ways, depending on which part is affected (muscle belly or tendon) and the extent of the damage. It is often possible to treat partial tendon tears in the triceps without surgery if they involve less than 50% of the tendon. It may require resting the joint, applying ice to reduce swelling and pain, using a splint to immobilize the elbow, taking medication to reduce inflammation and pain, and eventually, undergoing physical therapy to restore mobility and strength. It is recommended to undergo surgery if your triceps tendon tear involves more than 50% of the tendon. Surgery may also be recommended if you intend to return to high-level sports after a recovery period, even if the tear is less than 50%.

How long does it take for a torn biceps or torn triceps to heal?

All-Pro Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Lauderhill | Sep 21, 2022
All-Pro Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Lauderhill | Sep 23, 2022

Both torn biceps and torn triceps are severe injuries that require medical attention and sometimes even surgery. Recovery after a biceps tear or a triceps tear is a lengthy process, typically between 2 to 6 months to heal. After an injury, it usually takes the patient 4 to 5 months to return to normal activities. A full range of motion is expected to return after 12 weeks, but full strength is not likely to return till 6 to 9 months after the injury.

What causes the biceps and/or triceps to tear?

All-Pro Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Lauderhill | Sep 21, 2022
All-Pro Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Lauderhill | Sep 23, 2022

An injury to the biceps tendon can occur when you fall down with your arm outstretched or lift heavy objects. Overuse can weaken or tear the biceps tendon, such as tendonitis, shoulder impingement, and rotator cuff injuries. Usually, triceps tears occur during trauma, when your triceps muscles are contracted (tightened) and an external force tries to push your elbow into a bent position. Falling on an outstretched arm is one of the most common methods of causing triceps tears. It is possible for biceps and triceps to tear during sports activities such as throwing a baseball, boxing, blocking players in a football game, gymnastics, or falling and landing on an arm. Tendon tears can also be caused by advancing age, heavy overhead activities, repetitive overhead sports, smoking, and corticosteroids.

We provide elite orthopedic care and sports medicine in Florida here at All-Pro Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. If you have a torn meniscus, we will determine its condition and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan depending on the patient’s age, activity level, type of tear, and related injuries.
