The desert can be rough but if you enjoy a good adventure and don't mind a little sun, it's the perfect escape from the city. The dunes are plentiful and can throw a sandstorm or two so come prepared for that. Make sure you have the following: -Water -Goggles -Sunglasses -Sunscreen -Portable Battery Charger -Cool clothes for the heat of the day -Warm clothes for the nightly chill -And WATER - I know I said water already but don't forget it.

There are no rentals available through BLM. There are a few places that have rentals near the Glamis Beach Store, about 2 miles east of the Ranger Station. You can also find rentals in El Centro and Yuma.
We went on October 25, 2020 and its open.
Helmets are not required when in a street legal vehicle, but you must have and wear a seatbelt or harness. You must also have a safety flag, at least 8 feet from the ground, attached to the vehicle.
You can also contact Luv 2 Camp. They have toyhaulers and atv's. They will bring it all to where you want to camp. And pick it up when done.
