I've been using Kevin @ Great Southern Music for a few years now and he's worked on everything from my Fender Custom Shop Strat to my Ibanez and everything in between. He's great to deal with, super communication and most importantly, he knows his stuff! Highly recommend Kevin for any guitar repair/service/sale!

I had my telecaster “set up” at another guitar store I bought it from. Had some buzzing issues I thought were just me as I’m still learning. My guitar teacher noted the intonation was still off. A friend had told me about Kevin’s shop. Talked to him a few times and brought my tele to him to do a full proper set up. Man, what a difference. Guitar plays smooth as butter now. Apparently not all set ups are created equal. I need to bring my epiphone to Kevin now.

I have taken a few guitars to GSW over the past 10 years for set-ups and a refret. Most recently I took a pawn shop Taylor find to them for a neck reset, saddle and set-up. The price was fair and the work was great. It is always pleasant and fun to talk to Kevin. The younger guys are helpful and pleasant as well.

Kevin (the store owner) was very friendly and helpful, and also very knowledgeable on all things music and guitar. The shop is well equipped with instruments, lesson and song books, tuners, picks, and other crazy cool gadgets that i’ll definitely have to go back and get. They have also have plenty of Fender products so that’s always a big plus. 10/10

When I visit their store, I really only see guitars; acoustic and electric. Amps too. There's another violin store on Louetta I believe between 249 and N Eldridge. Fishburn is on Spring Cypress.
They told me that they were moving near the HEB on 290 and Barker Cypress.
For a begiiner you can get a decent one for $200-$400 that you can upgrade with pick ups tuners etc..etx. Mid range about $800 once you are serious about playing and then $1300 for a low end artist signature series. Thwn about $3k you get into hand made USA type or esp japan made
Hey Brad! Yes we offer fret dressings. When can you bring in your guitar? Best regards, Justin Perry
I've never seen one there
