The Oceano Dunes are some of the largest dunes around. The access is easy and rentals of all types are available or bring your own off road. The beaches are clean and wide, with lots of wild life including dolphin and whales passing by. There are horse back trails and hiking dunes as well. A great adventure awaits.

What a beautiful stretch of coastline! Quiet and calm, even with other people.

Yes. Great place to camp, no reservation needed.
But you can't bring your family dog, and if your going as a family don't forget your most loyal family member your family dog. If they catch you with a dog there is a heavy fine.
It all depends on the condition of the sand. Stay only where it's obviously packed hard. Sometimes what looks perfectly ok is soft. We've seen tons of people get stuck where it looks safe to drive on. Remember you are taking your chances with a 2wd. Be ready to try and get someone to help you or call a tow which is super expensive like more than $100. There are regular people who drive the beach with tow out capabilities but may not do it for free. Take some cash with you just in case. You should always offer to pay.
You can do it online or you can go to the gate and they will help you
I believe the gate at pier ave never closes due to campers on the beach. I did notice Grand ave gate closed the other morning and it was before 7 am. I hope this helps
I don't believe you can have fires in the preserve. You can on the beach but not in the fore dunes but anywhere in the SVRA. You might want to ask a ranger or an interpreter on the subject.
Dunes are open for everything but camping
I did see alot of fire pits people must have made during the evening so I'll agree with Tommy and say yes it appears that you can
If your dressed as a normal guy on a beach with alot of family's and children
Not at this time, maybe in September, because of the snowy colover birds.
They're not letting you go in the beach with vehicles so i would assume they are not letting u camp
No
Yes we had one last week...
I seen lots of cars and trucks I didn't see any railes or quads
Esta abierto. Public beach. Reservations are needed for the campgrounds. I believe auto access may be closed late at night. There's a security booth at the entrance.
I believe so. I didn't see anything there to indicate that you would need a reservation. Have fun!!😁
It's SUPER cheap but not free. Just like entering any other state park.
