Just ate here for the first time, and my impression is that this place is a real gem. Tried several items from the menu and everything was excellent--absolutely exceeding expectations on every single front. Fried fish was some of the best I've ever had, period. Meatloaf burger was extremely savoury. My goal is to return and try more items on the menu--I will update my review whenever possible. -- Enjoyed our third visit and wanted to say that everything here has always been flawless. Even the simple side salad was one of the most generous and flavorful that I've ever had. The flavors are always so good that you can't wait for another bite.

This was our first visit to this The Village Anchor, and I will say it's a little gem in the Anchorage area of Louisville. The atmosphere was warm and cozy (they have a large fireplace in the main area which was blazing on this chilly day but also outdoor dining for better weather), and the bar area was very nice and well stocked. Our server was efficient and friendly. But the main thing was the food which was outstanding! Our brunch menu was varied, and based on our choices, I would recommend the Brussel sprout salad and their banana pudding dessert. By the way, there is a scenic park close to the cafe where you might want to walk off some calories after eating at this local restaurant!

Yes, they do! I don't know why people keep saying they don't. Just because something isn't on the menu as vegan doesn't mean they can't make it that way for you. There are delicious hardy salads, for starters... and they are very accommodating. Don't hesitate to go!

Yes, on Tuesday's the Village Anchor has a $10 special that is available downstairs in the Sea Hag area. The menu changes every Tuesday, so be sure to call or visit them online to find out what that week's special menu is. Hope this helped!
Every week, starting at 5pm downstairs in the Sea Hag, they have a different $10 Tuesday meal/menu. Today's menu is a BLT sandwich with french fries. Hope that helps!
Great question. Highly recommended for evening service, unless it's just you. You can walk in without one, but you run the risk of having to wait a while or having it be completely booked. You could always call ahead and ask if it's a slow night.
