A Christian Glass is by far the best company I have ever worked with. I am extremely picky and for this company to impress me as much as they did, is HUGE! The on-site team (Field Manager, Team Leader, and Team) was extremely professional, respectful, helpful, accommodating, organized, great communication, and cleanliness. They worked so well as a team and always had a smile. They even accommodated me and my 3 dogs. I could leave the house and I trusted everyone of them like they were family. Lisandro Martinez was the Field Manager for our project. What a pleasure working with him. He is really good at what he does and a huge asset to A Christian Glass. He made the project run so smooth. He followed up with me all the time and went over and beyond to accommodate me. His Team Leader Isrrael Morel was incredible as well. He is definitely a great leader because he had everything so organized. I have to give every single team a shoot because everyone provided excellent customer service. Their workmanship was perfect! If you are looking for the best, don't look anywhere else. Trust me. You will never regret this company. Thank you everyone! Although we decided to wait until next year to do or windows and door, I just had to write a note about Sheila and Leronne. From our first interaction they just felt like family. They were both responsive, honest and just a pleasure to work with. They answered every single one of my questions, with a smile on their face. If you going to do your windows and door now or in the future - ask for Sheila and Leronne!!

Sheila Marenco was wonderful, so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She has so much patience. Her personality sold the windows more than the product itself. Thanks a lot my dear and we will definitely be referring you to all the friends that need these hurricane windows. Thanks again.

What are wind load calculations?

A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021
A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021

Wind load refers to the pressure exerted on various structures due to wind. These numbers can either be positive or negative. When wind forces act towards a structure, they are positive pressures. Conversely, negative wind pressures act away from a structure. We test our impact-resistance windows for both positive and negative wind pressures, and wind load calculations refer to both of these pressures. Structural engineers use wind load calculations to design specific solutions for different structures. Our team utilizes wind load calculations to ensure all of our windows not only meet but exceed potential wind forces from a hurricane for your home or business.

Can impact-resistant windows protect against burglars?

A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021
A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021

The main concept behind our impact windows is shatter-resistant glass that is both properly fitted and secured. The same thing that makes them hurricane resistant also makes them an excellent deterrent for burglars. We install windows with two layers of glass or vinyl with a sturdy membrane in between. If one window pane shatters, the other remains in intact due to the protection from the membrane in the middle. On the other hand, it is much easier to break through standard windows, as small fractures usually compromise the entire window. Therefore, our impact-resistant windows make it much more difficult for intruders to break into your home through the means of a broken window.

If I install impact windows and doors in my house, how do I obtain insurance premium discounts?

A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021
A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021

In order to obtain the insurance discounts or credits for having impact resistant windows and doors, all of the house openings must be protected. Homeowners with questions about mitigation should contact their insurance agents to make sure they are receiving proper credit for any steps taken to strengthen their home.

Will I also have to replace the window sills currently in my house?

A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021
A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021

It all depends on the condition of your current window sills and how your existing windows were originally installed. Most non-impact windows have much smaller aluminum frames. Therefore, it is likely we will have to remove the old window frame to install the new impact-resistant windows, especially if the old windows were installed directly next to the frame. However, in some instances, there is enough space in between to install the new windows without removing the old frame. This is obviously a case by case basis, and we will have to formally inspect your windows before we know whether we have to replace the old frame or not.

Are garage doors tested for impact-resistant compliance?

A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021
A Christian Glass | Sep 24, 2021

Yes, absolutely. Garage doors typically account for the largest opening in a building and are a critical component to the structural integrity of the building's envelope. As a result, the building code is very specific about rating garage doors.
