We signed a contract with Screen Builders for a small patio enclosure in Mid September. We asked if we could have it installed by Thanksgiving. The sales rep Ron Nerf said that they would try. After several phone calls we finally got them to pour the footers in mid December. The City Inspector signed off on the work on December 17th. I tried reaching Ron to get an update on when the work will be done but he is non responsive. I called Screen Builders directly today and they told me that someone has to come out again and take final measurements before they can start production. I asked how long that would take and they told me another 6 - 8 weeks. If I was told in advance that the job would take 5 - 6 months or longer to complete, I wouldn't have signed a contract with them. I should have read their reviews before I signed the contract.

Disgraceful project management and customer service. I hired Screen Builders, Inc., of West Palm Beach, to build a screened enclosure in my backyard. I signed the contract in September 2020, and the job wasn’t finally completed until November 2021 – 14 months later! The city permit was obtained within 4 months. For many months, as I waited for the work to begin and be completed, the company did not show the decency to contact me with updates and showed no regret for how much time was passing without the job being done. It was up to me to reach out for updates, when it should have been the company reaching out to update me. They gave me lame excuses on the phone, such as they had a lot of new work because of COVID, and the measurer hadn’t yet submitted the measurements to the fabrication department. But that was at least two months after the measurer actually took the final measurements. One staff member even told me “first-come, first-serve,” which was a callous answer. Eventually, as many more months passed, they gave me one estimated final completion date after another. Each date passed without so much as a phone call or email from the company. I was the one who had to call or email to get the status. If the company had too much work from other clients when I first asked them for an estimate and showed interest in hiring them, they should have told me up-front, instead of stringing me along for 14 months. They showed poor consideration toward me as a client. They should have provided me with regular professional updates and completed the job in a reasonable timeframe, not 14 months! In summary, this was my worst experience with a contractor. Other than finally completing the job after an unacceptable 14 months, they proved to me that they did not care about showing even the most basic professionalism after they had my signed contract and deposit money in hand.
