They always have a great selection of awesome beers. I can usually find something new at least once a month. Beertenders are super dope too!

Yum... Beer. Good ones at that. Update: Been 5 years since I've been back, it's just as good. Maybe my favorite brewery in the nation.

Excellent Brewery! This was our third Mike Hess brewery we have visited in San Diego. As always, the staff was super friendly and the beer is delicious. They had a T-Shirt special of $12 off (~50% off) if you buy a six pack or flight, but they gave us the discount for purchasing a growler so that was nice.

Questions & Answers

Do you make your seltzers that are on tap? What is the ABV and the carbohydrates in grams of the blood orange that I had yesterday, 10.15.2020 in IB?

We do make our own seltzer. The abv is 5.0% we have not done a nutritional breakdown on our seltzer. They are fully fermented out leaving no residual sugar, that I know.

Do you brew a gluten free beer?

Short answer, yes in a manner. Long answer: we use an enzyme - clarity ferm - in 100% of our beer. Since we brew with no less than 50% barley in all our beers every beer initially has gluten in it. Clarity ferm breaks down all protein - including gluten - in the finished product. We use clarity ferm to improve shelf life, but the added bonus is if used properly it reduces gluten content to below levels which would effect folks with celiac. Since there’s gluten initially we cannot call our beer gluten free. Instead we are allowed to use the term “crafted to reduce gluten.” All of our beer is treated in the same manner. We feel very confident in our canned or bottled beer for all gluten-sensitive drinkers. Our only suggestion for folks who purchase draft beer is to make sure the draft lines were cleaned prior to putting our beer on tap to ensure any residual gluten is removed from the line. Cheers!
