I’ve noticed lately our police departments across the nation have received negative attention and comments. It’s so very easy to blast the authorities & feel justified, like for once - your voice is heard. Unfortunately, for the negative reviews - there’s a high percentage chance, you caused your own misery. I lived and worked in York, Nebraska for several years. The York Police Department excelled at community service, community security and these officers knew the school kids names, knew their parents…where the parents worked - York Nebraska is a very small town with a police department that should be commended for going above and beyond the expectations of the community. I miss York, the small town feel where I felt so comfortable and part of a bigger family called Community. As a single Mom, my kids were safe, I was safe and felt “at home” in our little bungalow house. If you feel York, Nebraska just isn’t the peaceful town you expected - or you feel the police department is “less than” professional….. then Please, you be the change. You volunteer, you help out your neighbors, you get to know the York, Nebraska Police Officers - Get to know your town instead of sitting back, cussing & spreading negative comments. Choose Light, not dark🫶🏻

Harassed and followed a citizen for asking for a complaint form. Luckily no one really needs to go to York, Nebraska

They were very inexperienced and rude. The officers came to my house for a civil matter and treated me like a criminal. I was not home. My son and I were at the dentist in town, and they proceeded to knock and check. I was disturbed to start getting restricted calls while getting teeth water picked! When I returned home was disturbed to find them there. Needless to say I lost it. After further inspection I caught the officer on camera trying to open my door when I didn't answer. VERY Disrespectful!!!!
