Hi James, ECHO's role with the SC Stay program was only to process the applications to get them prepared for SC Stay to complete and make payment. (Payments/funding get sent directly from SC Stay to your landlord, payments do not get sent to or from ECHO.) Unfortunately, SC Stay is experiencing significant delays in issuing all payments due to the tremendous need. If you're landlord is unwilling to wait for SC Stay's payment, I suggest applying for the Horry County Emergency Rental Assistance Program online at erap.echousing.org or by calling 843-492-2600.

If you are unable or unwilling to wait for SC Stay to make payment, ECHO does offer another Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) for Horry County residents. The ERAP program is administered entirely by ECHO and may also be able to provide assistance. You can apply online at erap.echousing.org or call 843-492-2600.

Put in a application online, they do help domestic violence situations. If you qualify they will help you get a place down here. I hope everything works out for you.

They help people of horry county stay in their homes by helping assist them with rent payment, if you are a resident of SC and homeless they will help with housing placement but not much is Available right now that's why they would rather help pay your rent so u wont become homeless. But u do have to be a resident I believe. You can also go online to put in a application to be evaluated for help. Hope this helps you.
