Summertime in Oriental is the best. The farmers market on Saturday mornings is so fun then hit the Bean for some breakfast and coffee. You can walk to everything there and the shops and restaurants are outstanding. There is always live music playing somewhere on Saturday nights. There are Air BNB houses you can rent rite in the village which are way better than a hotel room. It's a great spot for a nice weekend and if you like taking photos of sunrises or sunsets then you'll get some great shots. Not to mention all the trawlers are packed in the harbor on weekends and they make for some great pics as well. Come see for yourself. You'll not be disappointed.
