I entered this facility 16 Feb 2022 via ambulance about 12:55pm. Later, I was in pain from my surgical area and was told they only get medicine delivered twice daily, at 2pm and 2am, & I had missed the 2pm so I would have to wait. They knew I was coming before I arrived. I had other medications that were also not given. I did finally get some Tylenol but was ordered oxycodone for my level of pain, Dr Amed refused to sign off on it. I was able to walk and was only there for physical therapy and only preapproved for 2 days and had not gotten therapy either. The NA said she would have to borrow from another patient if they had any of my medication & pay them back when mine came in. I said that was illegal & I wouldn't do it. I told them I didn't like their care and wanted to go home and be discharged. I was told I could not go home. Sometime in that evening the NA told me she had my muscle relaxer. I asked where are the rest of my medication, which she didn't have, & I said it was not my medication because it had not come in yet and I wasn't going to take another patients medication. I told them to call the on-call supervisor & explain what was happening & was told there was" nobody to call". I asked them to call the on-call pharmacy & was told there wasn't one. I said if you can't do anything for me, I want to go on home, I have medicine at home and that it had been my choice to be there, and they were not providing any services to me. I was still awake in pain at 2:40am and asked for my medicines at that time. I was told they didn't come in and to "Go back to my room". I hadn't even been given a gown to sleep in or asked if I needed any assistance with bathing or dressing. I asked if I had to wait until 2pm again & was told yes, I again asked for them to call the supervisor on call and report my concerns. I stayed awake crying until about 4:00 or 4:30am. At about 7:15am a woman who said, "I am the floor nurse" came in my room with 2 other staff and said, "I have your muscle relaxer". I said when did it come in, to which she said "At 2am". I again asked where are my other medications, she replied, "They didn't come in". I told her not to keep bringing me other patients' medication, & not to come back until ALL of mine were delivered! Shortly after that, I got out of bed & went looking for the admin who wasn't in her office. The whole time followed around by a short, smaller staff member who made a point of telling everyone, "She's a patient, not a visitor, basically warning other staff to be careful what they said. I was told again "to go back to my room"...Like I was a child & told I couldn't stand by the front exit door, which I wasn't doing. I asked why, because I had my street clothes on, and was told "Because you might look like you are going to make a run for it"! It wasn't funny to me. I could hardly walk! I finally found the Director of Nursing, & she was informed I was a "patient" by that same staff member who barged into her office. I told her all that had happened & was told she would look into it. On numerous occasions I said I wanted to go home and could get a ride. Mrs. Lanier, the SW, called my daughter in another state, which I feel intruded on my HIPAA rights to privacy, and my daughter told them to let me go home as I was capable to make rational decisions and totally took care of myself well. A staff member also admitted to me that they had misplaced my discharge orders from the hospital (that had my medication list and plan of care) when I spoke to them earlier. Staff wrote he had given me a muscle relaxer that I never received. On my way out I was handed a discharge folder with no instructions!! A Medical Records employee said they were "Preparing for a change over but wasn't at liberty to say more". Since that time Brian Center is no longer under their previous name. The administrator said all of their centers have been bought out and phone calls are answered with... "Goldsboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare".

There is access to a supply of medication for first dosing at the center that is available while new medication orders are communicated with the off-site pharmacy. Recurring prescriptions are filled by the off-site pharmacy for residents. Consultant pharmacists review each resident's medication list on admission and monthly thereafter to monitor each resident’s individual medication regimen and make recommendations to the physician.
