This was a very cozy wooded campground, has waterfront sites on lake independence that have room to draw up a moderate sized boat, a boat launch and a beach. The facilities are adequate and well maintained, the atmosphere is vary family friendly. Less than 30 min north of Marquette and 5 min from a boat launch on Big Bay, there is a convenience store a walkable distance away and lots of trails, waterfalls and beaches to be found around the area. 2 thumbs up! Be aware, lakefront sites do not have hook ups, although there are plenty adjacent sites with full hook ups. There is potable water and dumping facilities along with extra parking. Would recommend!!

A wonderful campground for families! We just stayed 7 days in a Yurt with 2 young kids and although no electricity was so much fun! The beach is beautiful and clean, kids loved the park and riding bikes with all the others staying. Bathrooms were clean and nice showers. Staff was very helpful and friendly, stopping daily to see how things were going. Great general store across the street with everything you could need , plus laundromat and restaurant! Thanks for a great week! See ya next yearπ

I've been to over 50 campgrounds (private, federal, state, county, remote, modern) this place is the perfect mix of all. Not only is it in a great location but the employees do a great job of upkeep. AT&T mobile router works and so does Starlink (lots of tall trees tho). Probably going to catch a bunch of tasty perch tomorrow, too busy chilling today. Also I was amazed at how inclusive this park is. Even the old timers made us feel welcome despite having an issue with our pride flag. They'll come by hourly and give you a free safety inspection which is very considerate. We'll definitely be coming back

We parked our Geo Pro RV so easily at Perkins Park. So close to Bay City! Great location plus great park for my doggie too. Big Bay has a great inn too plus great place to eat. Big Bay Lighthouse and lots of waterfalls hidden that you hike to see. Great general Store for all your needs plus gas stations too.

$17 rustic site $20 rustic lakeside site $23 electric only $26 electric and water $30 full hookup $33 full hookup pull thru Day passes are $2
Look for Perkins park website. It has a reservation system that will let you know what sites are available at that time, also the cost. Very easy to use. Also they do drop rate for over 5 days.
Sorry they do not there are places to rent kayak yet it is on lake superior not a lot rent sorry hioe u find something.
I dont know anything about yurts but they have a large rent a tent sight with a large canvas tent with a wood floor and 4 canvas and wood army cots. no pillows or blankets. But I couldn't recommend it more we were just there 2 weeks ago
We were there last week and paid $40 per night for 50amp hookup. I think 30amp and tent spots are cheaper. Call them, if you don't get them keep trying
They have a few back in and also some pull through that can accommodate a 40 footer
It looks like $23 per night, and there's a deal if you're staying five nights. (You should probably check this link yourself too--there are several other variables... Lake side vs not etc). http://www.co.marquette.mi.us/departments/planning/perkins_park/index.php#.XNDYtB4pA0O
