We had a great experience at Redwood urgent care. All the staff were kind, efficient and skilled in dealing my 3-year-old's pulled elbow. She came in distraught and came out smiling.

This place is absolutely ridiculous. My partner went in for unbearable jaw pain. First thing mentioned was their inability to treat pain, “we don’t do pain management,” and this was in response to a question we had regarding his insurance. The second issue was in regards to the lack of attention, care, and bedside manner he received. X-rays were done, doctor spoke with him less than 5 mins, supposedly he only had “inflammation of the jaw bone.” I believe the worst part was the nurses attempt to “massage the inflammation,” which was an area with a visual bump. The next several days his pain skyrocketed. Turns out he had a double ear infection and an abscess. St Joes was shocked the infection had gotten so bad and he wasn’t treated appropriately. Do not recommend.

Came by around 2pm one day, they were all full and unable to serve new patients. I went onto the website to make an appointment, which happened to be In the morning of the next day. I call over the phone while making my way over there in time for my appointment to ask about how much it would be out-of-pocket to pay for my appointment, to which I got a response of a little over $100 (reasonable, not why I'm writing this review). I make my way over to Eureka from Arcata and call again to ask for any special instructions for COVID-symptoms since it said that on the website (I had strep throat with no cough, no fever, but I did have a sore throat). To my astonishment, I am told that they are actually no longer accepting patients because they will be going on lunch break soon and I would have to come back 3 hours later after they take lunch. I was told they’re overloaded and people are waiting for 2-3 hours, which is why they stopped for lunch way earlier. I don’t blame them, I just wish they told me that over the phone the first time when I said I was coming to my appointment. My strep throat ended up coming back several days after I finished antibiotics because nobody told me to switch toothbrushes after coming off my symptoms, and I had to come back for a second treatment. I'm a student at Cal Poly Humboldt and during the summer our on-campus medical center was closed, so this was my only option for treatment outside an ER. I'm glad that it exists, but I am not satisfied with the care I've received and the lack of communication. Please update the website to say that appointments aren't honored.

Our self pay rate for x-ray is $75.00 and $99.00 for the office visit.
Yes, since we are not in network with partnership, you can opt for our self-pay option.
Hi Tanya, we now are in Network with TriWest, which allows us to see any veteran after approval from the VA. The claim would be sent to the VA. Thanks for the inquiry.
We are 9AM - 6:30PM every day of the week, every day of the year. We do close at 5PM on major holidays.
Hi Alia, thanks for inquiring about us. We are not in Network with Gold Coast Health Insurance, however we usually can still bill your plan. It would be wise to get your visit authorized with your insurance carrier ahead of time and get details regarding your "out of network" coverage. Otherwise, our Urgent Care offers a $99.00 office visit fee, paid at the time of service.
We can accept most insurance plans. We are in network with: Medicare, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, CIGNA, United Healthcare, Humboldt IPA, Tricare, and Champ VA. We can accept many other insurances that we are not in Network with, such as Aetna, Kaiser Permanente, Healthnet, and more. It is advised that patients with "Out of Network" insurances call their insurance companies ahead of time to find out their "Out of Network" coverage. We are unable to accept Medicaid, Medi-Cal or Partnership Healthplan at this time.
