Yep buy another chromebook it'll be much cheaper buying one than getting the one you've got repaired.

My sister's MacBook pro has a damaged charging port. The computer is shutting down when she plugs the wire to the port. Are you guys open?

Call them, I'm sure they do take them. Swelling of the body sound like a battery issue and in need of replacing. They work on lots of devices.
