While the facility is gorgeous and beautiful it is "NO MAN'S LAND". I was able to walk in off the street and go into a Veterans room with NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON checking to see what was in the bag I was carrying. On the floor of 3B, I was asked who I was going to see and what room. I told them I didn't know the patient's name only her room number. They asked if I was an UBER. I explained I am her caretakers partner. They first said I could not go back, rather the caretaker would have to come up front to get the package of food. I was about to call him when they said, "forget it. Just go back don't worry about signing in. " So, I was able to proceed to the patient's room without anyone checking my identity or the contents of my package. Upon leaving the patient's room I saw the ENTIRE place was UNSTAFFED. There was not a sole around, EVEN the entrance by D was empty. Anyone could walk in off the street. NOT SAFE AT ALL especially with the current CRIMES and senseless VIOLENCE in New Orleans. I got lost several times trying to find my way back to my car. There was NO ONE TO assist me. I WOULD have expected a VA hospital to be SECURE. I would have expected ARMED GUARDS at entrances. These VETERANS fought for YOUR FREEDOM and SAFETY. WHO IS PROTECTING THEM NOW?? You MUST DO BETTER.

ABSOLUTELY TRASH!!!! ITS SO SAD HOW VETERANS ARE HANDLED!!! THEY DON'T CARE AND YOU PROBABLY DIE FIRST BEFORE YOU EVER GET AN APPOINTMENT!! ALL THEY DO IS PASS YOU ON FROM PERSON TO PERSON AND NEVER GET YOU WHAT YOU NEED!!!! I WISH I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE STAR!!!!!

My cardiologist and his staff are top notch. Dr Ali, Suzanne, Ryan, keisha and Especially Nick don’t come any better. I’ve been using the VA since 1983 (when it was in the old building on Tulane and my god it’s gone from night to day. They are so attentive and make me feel like I am literally the most important person their, and that is truly saying a lot during a time when all hospitals are way under staffed and critically over worked. I suffer from agoraphobia, severe anxiety issues and panic attacks and just seeing Nick and his few kind words makes me feel better as well as brings down my anxiety levels. I swear if I knew for sure there was some sort of prize/ employee of the month or year I’d campaign to see the Nick in the cardiology dept gets it. The man is a natural at his job and highly deserves praise. 👍👍👍😊🙃

They keep sending my father home and we keep bringing him back to the ER. We’ve lost all faith that this establishment can communicate effectively internally. The doctors physically see you for about 2 minutes / day, look at the charts, and think they know what kind of condition you’re in. They send students to do operations (leaving the threads from stitches hanging out by an inch, or permanently disfiguring you—yes both real examples that my father has suffered at the hands of the VA in NOLA. We brought him back to the ER FOR THE FIFTH TIME this month, last night, after challenging the doctor’s order to release him from the hospital for hours. We went back and forth with the intern (first we were told it would be the urologist coming to see him, they never showed up, then it was the medicine dr who was supposed to come, and he never showed up either) for hours about how he’s not ready to leave the hospital. Sure enough, 2 days later HE’S BACK IN THE ER. JUST LIKE I TOLD THE INTERN HE WOULD BE. We are QUICKLY losing confidence that this hospital has any real value. Now they want a robot to remove his prostate, and my family is scared they’re going to kill him, after all the neglectful (lack of) care they provided before. Oh and now the main phone number is down — THE *ONLY* PHONE NUMBER PROVIDED. So I can’t reach anyone at the hospital. But it’s not like we could before because when you ask to reach your doctor, THEY SAY “OK,” THEN SEND YOU YO A NATIONAL CALL CENTER, WHO SENDS THE DOCTOR AN ALERT—HA! They don’t get back to you for 10-24 hours. Classic federal govt BS. We’re sick of this place and these people, and frankly, we’re disgusted that they can treat a Vietnam veteran this way. We will be calling the patient advocate at the White House today!

Courtney, there's an entire clinic that can service you for Mental Health. I'd stop by, as treatments are confidential, and what th er y can't provide, they'll refer you out for.
Yes. Go on Rochablave Av. Off of Canal, turn by the the Waffle House. There is a ramp that leads straight to the Emergency department.
I have a lost hospital card. My name is Reginald (Me) White . Can you send me a card to 4104 Eagle St New Orleans La 70118. Soc.3057
If you are the Veteran, then yes. If you are a family member, then unfortunately, not.
Unfortunately, as a government entity, that's the way it works. Wait on the line until you reach a human and ask that person for the extension to the department you're looking for.
