This area is called "Apple Hill" for a reason! There are so many farms to choose from, with some offering children rides, some with a variety of vendor's to choose from, and several with Bakeries & frozen goods. Pick up the farm guide from any of the many farms along the way!

Apple Hill is a must stop. I usually go in October for great apple products like: the apple cider doughnuts at rainbow orchard, apple pie Carmel apples from Abel's, apple pie cheesecake from delfino farms. I go on black Friday to get a Christmas tree at high hill ranch.

Yes as long as they're leashed. If they're aggressive or not people friendly, then your best to keep them home.
If you contact the farm directly, they should be able to answer your question. I only was visiting.
Yes! Well behaved dogs on a leash with owner that will pick up after them are fine :-). However, Health Dept. rules do not allow animals inside any places that sell or serve food (bake shops, apple barns, lunch facilities, etc).

Hi Paralee,' Yes, many growers recommend that you put some cuts or air vents (3 or 4, like you said) in the top of the crust when baking. Hope that helps!
Yes, Apple and blackberry
The 16 original ranches got together and drew numbers that is why they aren't consecutive
Yes there is lots of parking at Larson's Apple Barn. If not just use the orchard like us local people do. The problem is you cannot get off at Carson or Camino exit you have to take the cedar Grove exit. The CHP do guide people along. You could take Smith flat exit but there is a lot of traffic on that road also
This is the business office for the Apple Hill Growers Association. We have 50 member farms that are located in the Placerville, Camino and Pollock Pines areas.
Hello! Gravensteins are usually one of the earlier varieties to be harvested/picked (mid August to early-September). Use this link to see which farms grow these: https://applehill.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/AppleGuidebyRanch.pdf
All the farms are open as of Sept 2. Look online for the map.
They be open....many have gotten generator's!!! Yes power out here!!!! But we are resourceful in the country here!!! FARMER'S!!!!
Sorry all I know it's 10 dollars a bottle.
There is a guide you can pick up just about anywhere around Apple Hill that has a map, growers, approximate harvest times and what each farm grows. Calling ahead makes sense to be sure the apple you want is actually rady. The guide has each farm's phone number.
Personal vehicles are allowed.
Not sure if they ship. Many apple hill growers have great bakeries. I suggest you contact the individual growers websites.
We are opening on July 13th from 8-2pm. Saturday and Sundays
Not sure. The only Ranch I know that stays open year-round is Boa Vista Orchards
