You can get a birth or death certificate at 2nd Parish courthouse. To get a passport, marriage or divorce certificate, you would have to go to the Jefferson Parish Courthouse. It's located at 200 Derbigny St. In Gretna.
I would not recommend that. An attorney should advise you in this regard, or you could go in before your court and ask for another date. Good luck.
