My favorite place to swim and fish have been going since I was a boy and I now take my four year old son to do the same!

The walk to Franklin is okay, nothing great. Obvious that this area was widely mined, but everything is hidden in undergrowth. The mineshaft is the highlight, the cemetery is overgrown, vandalized and just sad. Lots of people will make walking to narrow foot path difficult. We went at end of day as everyone was leaving, much quieter and room to explore at our own pace.

This state park is not accessible without going through private land. You have to park at the Franklin ghost town access spot and pay $5. No ammenities here and the trails are unmaintained. Tons of drug and alcohol use, very sketchy area. This should not be a state park, just a liability waiting to happen.

This is the most visually intriguing place I've been in this part of Washington...or just about anywhere for that matter. I can't wait enjoy those views this summer! This it's my new favorite hiking/hangout spot.
