I have been to the SSA Middletown office 2 times in the past month, and I have been so impressed with the staff there. I had a complicated (and annoying) technical issue to figure out and fix -- I knew it was a pain and I knew it would take time. (Plus, both times it was a Friday). The staff had every reason to be less than happy with me, but I left both times smiling and taken care of so well. Every staff person I encountered in person and on the phone has been helpful, patient, and kind. Kudos to the whole staff for bringing their best to work and spreading it to their customers/clients. Ms. Martinez and Ms. Bullock deserve a special shout out -- they are just flat out wonderful human beings who know their stuff and bring their best to helping the people they see. Thanks again for being so great!

There is something going on with them in past year ever 5 months i been having to do same paperwork. Over and over like they are losing my son info.. And some of them that answer the phone are very rude ....

I had a very different experience there today from the one-star reviewer’s. The receptionist (a man in his thirties who may have been a veteran) greeted my wife and me cordially and had me sign in on the adjacent computer monitor. He found my name on the appointment list and explained it would be 15-20 minutes before the assigned agent could take us. We waited. When 30 minutes had passed and we were still waiting, the receptionist offered to take care of my request himself - “It’s an IRMAA change, I do these all the time!” He asked a few questions, glanced at my tax return which justified the requested change, made the correction, asked if we had any questions, and we were on our way. A clean bathroom is located right in the waiting area. Metered parking is right out front. A mostly very positive experience.

Called today and received horrible customer service from Candace. She was not listening to me and either would not or could not provide assistance. I asked to speak to anyone else and she took my number and disconnected the call. Very angry and aggressive young woman. Candace should not be answering calls. FWIW - No one called back.
