Clean bathrooms. Wonderful asphalt trail. Also dirt traiL Closer to the river. Love this park with its ancient oak and locust trees. Stop and walk you won’t be disappointed!

Common rest area for north and south bound traffic on i5. Area itself looked nice but mens bathroom was dirty and stinky.

Spiritual place for me. The natives and the US army definitely passed through this place. I felt a lot of jostling, shoving, hurrying, people traveling fast on foot. before I left I felt a lot of forgiveness, love flowing between the two peoples, alot of compassion and understanding. I was moved. Further up the road at Manzanita rest stop, I experienced a very young soldier pulling at a woman's skirt/petticoat, I don't know if he was being rude or helpful, I heard curious voices, a name called out, then hoofbeats as his commanding officer who was mounted rode up and shot him in the head cold and he fell down and was died, the native woman was trying to help him and I could feel her long heavy braid hitting her back as she was hurried along the path. Alot of energy here of foreboding and fear of the unknown on both sides but also a very honorable graceful acceptance and understanding between the army and the natives.

This has become a regular stop for me when in the area. It's absolutely beautiful. Bathrooms are well kept and there's so much area to just walk or to play with my pup or even just to sit and enjoy the sound of the river.

You can park and sleep overnight (yes it's cool, and highly encouraged after a long trip) at any Oregon rest area for 12hrs.
In Oregon you can always sleep at rest areas, you can picnic, make breakfast (no open wood fire, propane okay), walk around & explore. NO TIME LIMIT. All rules only say don't be a nuisance to others. Park is next to rest area. Rest area itself is often busy (noise). At campground they are cool, not out to bust people, just keep things friendly & well maintained. I was with a group but we were coming & going individually a lot and no one ever asked for money or paperwork. Also some folks camping not in official sites seemed to have casual arrangement. Mostly just don't pollute or be a problem for others. Officially it's $7 fee for extra cars (probably what they'd take if you asked and not using tent site), $19 for tent site, $26 electrcal hookup for RV, $51 for a yurt. So depends on what you want. Can still hear some freeway traffic but quieter than rest stop. Also, bathrooms (away from rest area, less used) & showers are very good.
No fires at the park however the campgrounds have been closed off and on.
No shower and free
Yes its 2.00 for non.campers
The bathrooms in the camping area are much nicer and are maintained daily.
