I would recommend being very careful with moving here. They will charge you for any little thing they can. Although a decent area to live in, unless you like paying for extra fee’s i wouldn’t recommend any MAA.

Moved in about a month ago. Literally looked at every property in Matthews as I was relocating. So happy I chose Matthews Commons. Deb, the property manager goes out of her way to make sure she can do whatever she can to make your life easier! I don't see anything changing about my experience here, I'll check back in at the six month mark😊

I have been living here for the past 3 years. Everyone is friendly, the staff knows who the tenants are and the maintenance people are really helpful. I would recommend Matthews Commons to anyone looking for a great place to live.

Every community handles resident communication independently, but a good place to start is the MAA site and the Resident Login portal. Not only can residents pay rent online, they can submit and track service requests, check out online deals, and stay connected to news and events in their community.
Some of our communities have dog wash stations, while others feature Bark Parks and other dog walking amenities. Please refer to the community page you’re interested in for a full list of pet amenities.
MAA is dedicated to the more efficient use of our natural resources. We employ smart irrigation practices at most of our communities. These include implementing weather-based control systems, low-flow irrigation devices and the use of reclaimed and well water. We also use drought-tolerant plant material in our landscaping that requires less water and incorporate hardscaping to reduce turf area. Our highest irrigation use properties undergo annual efficiency audits. Since 2012, we have saved almost 100 million gallons in our landscaping program as a result of our conservation efforts. Many of our communities install low-flow plumbing fixtures in our kitchens and baths and we monitor community water use throughout the year to spot opportunities for improvement.

MAA has added virtual tours and self-guided tours in addition to in person with a leasing agent in order to ensure that you feel comfortable as you tour our communities. You can choose the way you want to tour each community by making a choice on the “Tour Your Way” page.
Once you’ve chosen a community, click on the “Tour Your Way” button to request a tour. You can set up a time to talk with an agent or ask for additional information to be emailed or sent via text message.
Yes, via the Resident Login on the MAA site. Once a resident logs in, they have the ability to make service requests or send other communication to their community managers. This varies from community to community and new features are being planned for the future.
In general, you should hear from a leasing agent within 48 hours, but please note, processing times can be different from community to community.
