Questions & Answers

Is the grounds dogfriend? Does the Admission Fee apply to the grounds? Thanks.

You go into a building to pay, then walk out the back door to get to the grounds. I am unsure if they would allow the dog to go inside any building. You can pay one fee to look inside the surrounding buildings and walk to the cemetery, all self-guided (they give you a map and it has additional info). If you pay a little more, you will get a tour inside the main house and 2 more buildings, which is definitely more interactive. Hope this helps!

The family name was Moore. I'm not sure if the slaves took the name, although it was common to do so.

Go to “Franks for the memories” restaurant. It is 13 miles away, but well worth the trip. Great hot dogs, sloppy joes, and philly cheese steak sandwiches.

Not at the Plantation, but I remember one when I was a kid in that area because we used to eat there a lot. I want to say it was Walnut Grove Fish Camp and it was in the area where the Waffle House was built.
