I am very new to this gym. I have trained jiu-jitsu on and off for the past two years and have been to 4 total gyms counting this one. (Work, schedule, and one coach relocating were reason for switching gyms). I recently got stationed in Guilford County and was looking for a gym to get started back and finally make my home. It's hard for me to find a place to go to that fits my schedule. This gym has both day and evening classes and has allowed me to train 3 or more times a week. The coach does demand a lot of respect which is honestly appropriate being that he committed so much of his time to be where he is and give back to us hoping to be in his position one day. Some of the negative reviews I have seen on here I have not personally observed myself. The price of the gym is phenomenally affordable. I couldn't believe the quality of training I am getting for the price. Graeme Prue the coach told me when I asked why it's so cheap. "I want everyone to be able to learn. A single mother can't afford hundreds of dollars a month to learn self defense." (I did paraphrase being that I don't remember exact wording of his reply). I would recommend this gym to anyone new to experienced. Great atmosphere, great training, great schedule, great price. There literally nothing more you can ask for. Starting this gym as a white belt, and looking to obtain my black belt in this same gym. Gym offers, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, and wrestling. Has both Gi and No Gi classes.

Edit: Having been at the gym for over 4 years now, I'd like to add my new perspective. Original review down below. As a small (105lb) female, I appreciate more than I can say being able to train safely. Coach Graeme not only fosters a fun, safe space to learn, gain skills and confidence, and grow as people; he actively protects us from those who come in with nasty intensity and bully mentality. Knowing that sort of energy is not tolerated and swiftly dealt with provides immense peace of mind. We train hard, but we also train safe. Anyone who trains a martial art will tell you there's no room for both growth and ego, you have to let go of the latter to gain the former. That is very much the culture here. From the moment I first walked in the door I knew Combat Fitness was a quality place to train. Coach Graeme Prue runs his classes efficiently and engagingly, so that no matter your experience or skill level you can walk away from every class having learned something. Whether you want to train mixed martial arts as a serious competitor, just get in shape and learn some skills while you're at it, learn practical self defense for everyday life, or all of the above; whatever your starting point and goals this is a place you can learn to achieve them. From the get-go everyone is welcoming and friendly, and at the end of every class we thank our training partners for being there for each other. It's a supportive and safe environment to learn combat sports and self defense, with philosophies like "Play and do no harm" and respect for everyone on the mat as cornerstones you see every day. All skill levels, backgrounds and walks of life are treated equally and with respect. You couldn't find better anywhere in the world. Fun, safe, and incredibly effective training for anyone and everyone who comes to learn. Absolutely recommend!

Good atmosphere around students no complaints there but i feel the Coach won't care too much about you unless you're competing .i see his point but not everybody has time to be athlete .but the guys is knowledgeable. He got his ego but nobody is perfect .

Fantastic all the way around, from the facility, to the students but more importantly the coaching. Couldn't ask for anything better.

Yes. MMA is something that takes hard work and dedication, so much more than most people are aware of or prepared to give. But if you bring that; Combat Fitness definitely can give you all the tools and opportunities you need to be successful on any level. Everything you need right there.
