One of my favorite places to go. I’ve been going here since before it was updated with the paved trails. Sitting next to the water and just seeing the herrings and fish is so peaceful. It’s a great spot for sunbathing and swimming also!

Questions & Answers

I have been waiting for the new Saluda Riverwalk to open since construction kicked off in 2017. When will the Riverwalk officially open? After all, it's almost March 2020. How long does it take to build a 3 mile long sidewalk through the woods?

We are hoping that it'll open soon. There are still some minor construction things that need to be completed. Contact your local county councilman and let them know that you would like to see it open!

Is there a good tube launch area?

Laurence Lagnese | Jun 25, 2022
Amber Gibbs | Jun 25, 2022

Yes! Like the previous response there is a restroom near the paved parking area that has very clear signage for tube put ins. It also updates if the river is unsafe for tubing as well.

It is safe in certain places but there are boulders and swift unpredictable currents. Ask the park rangers first.

Is this area handicap accessible?

Joel Priest | Sep 23, 2021

I have only been there in weekends and the parking lot has been closed ever time. So you have to park on the shoulder. This would be the biggest impediment for a handicap person. If you can maneuver the shoulder of the road everything else is very accessible.
