I am updating my review since we have now moved out of the colony. I still will give the colony five stars because it was such a nice place to live. My husband and I lived here for a year and would have stayed longer if they had house-type rentals. When were first looking for apartments in the area, we fell in love with this one at first sight. Now I know why, they have a cleaning crew come I think every 2 weeks to keep everything looking nice. They really invest in making this place worth your money. The colony is just perfect for anyone that is looking for a more cozy apartment complex. It is like you are living in a village rather than an apartment. It is perfect for individuals who want a peaceful apartment that also has a hint of nature. The trees around the property provide lots of shading and you will always see wildlife. It is really great for anyone that owns dogs, the breed restrictions suck but, there are lots of ways to exercise your pups. There are walking paths, a dog park, and even a nature trail right next to the complex. When it came to management, they where really great about giving a fair amount of warning prior to coming by. They also made moving out so easy. My only cons were about how maintenance was handled. We were charged for some repairs that did not make since to me as I thought maintenance was covered in rent. We also went a week in the summer without AC which was frustrating. Other than that, we really did enjoy living here and will continue to recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment.
