This practice came recommended by my neighbors and is convenient to my home. Unfortunately, my experience has been a very negative one from the get go. I scheduled a new patient appointment in May for this morning and waited three months to get in with a provider recommended by my neighbors; this is the provider that was highly recommended to me and I’m not interested in other providers in the practice. I waited to see this provider based on recommendations from others despite the long wait time. In the three months I was waiting to see this provider to establish care, I have some health issues that have come up that need attention. My appointment was this morning at 10:20 and I get a call at 8 am from the office telling me that the provider I waited three months to see called out and couldn’t get me back in until October!!!! It’s not the fact that the provider called out. I’m a working mom of two and I understand emergencies happen. What frustrates me is that the provider called out short notice after I waited three months to see them and is expecting me to wait another two months! I’m unsure if it is a provider issue, staff issue, or company issue, but that’s just unacceptable. I’m a healthcare provider too and so is my spouse. If I were to call out the day of an appointment after a patient has been waiting several months to see me only to reschedule them another two months out, I would be disciplined by my company for not offering the patient something within a reasonable time frame because I was the one who called out. The staff offered to schedule me with another provider in the same practice but not for another month. As I mentioned above, I’m interested in one provider in that practice because of the recommendations I received from friends and neighbors. Friends and neighbors also recommended other physicians in the area in other practices, so I decided to take my business elsewhere. I was told that there are too many patients and not enough providers which is why I have to wait so long. I’m a mental health provider and we are having the same issues; however I would have approached this differently, made an exception, and gotten the patient in sooner, especially if they were waiting months to see me. It’s called customer service and I take customer service very seriously as a healthcare provider. It seems that this office has enough business anyway and does not care about losing me as a potential patient or my experience based on them telling me they can’t keep up with demand and being unwilling to work with me about getting into see the provider I wanted to see within a reasonable time frame after I already waited three months. Customer service everywhere is lacking these days and I guess healthcare is no exception.
ReeOWR!
Tonya was incredibly rude, judgemental and short with me.. I have high anxiety and I felt extremely uncomfortable trying to explain any mental disorders I had, as she acted like I was lying, making my disorders up or self diagnosing.. but Ashley Dean is delightful, patient, and kind.. need a new nurse to replace such a rude person..
