HSV has a great wine selection and the entrees are typically top-notch. Some side items like the cheese board? Meh. Not much going on there. The service is attentive and friendly. A design detail that should be considered: acoustic panels. It is always so loud in this space. A few panels could be added that would dampen the noise and not detract from the decor. Overall, you will be happy with a visit to HSV.

A clean restaurant, good atmosphere and we liked the feel of a small restaurant. We only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, did not seem like an extremely busy night. Waiter was polite but we did not see him very much at all. After ordering drinks, appetizer, and entrees we waited a good 20 minutes before asking if maybe they had forgotten about our bread. The waiter’s response was that they only serve it if requested. We weren't offered bread when we ordered but said that’s fine and requested it at that time. The bread arrived shortly and about 10 minutes later our charcuterie board. For $16 it was very small and portions sufficient for 1 person. After another 30 minutes, minimum, the scallops arrived and there were three small scallops, for $31. It came with about 2 tablespoons of beans and lacked the asparagus stated on the menu. We ate in peace and, when asked, we politely stated it was not the best experience and didn't feel the quality or quantity of the food justified the wait or the expense. They offered to put in an additional order, but we did not have time to wait as it took incredibly long from start to finish. If you want to risk the service end, it could possibly improve on a different night. If you are a light eater and don't mind the higher prices you could be fine as well. We can't give it 1-2 stars because the food wasn't bad, and they were not blatantly rude. We are just used to a greater level of service, higher quality food and better value for what we receive.

Absolutely fantastic service. We came for Brunch and I'd definitely recommend the Eggs Brouille! The crispy potatoes are as good as they sound

10/5 star food and service kinda restaurant. Dress up or come casual. Staff is so nice and attentive. For brunch, I love ordering a La Vie en Noir, a side of crispy potatoes to start, and the French toast (best on the east coast) or the Grilled Salmon.
