Evergreen is the only company I call for my hvac needs. They are prompt and professional. The technicians are knowledgeable and courteous. They explain the repairs needed and offer long term solutions. I recommend Evergreen 100% to anyone needing repair or replacement of their hvac system.

I have an HOW but getting them to come out in less than a few days is a joke. I needed to get someone out now to see what was wrong with our A/C, maybe even today. Evergreen had a ton of good reviews on Google. Well, they are well deserved. First off, I called them, and got voicemail. I decided not to leave a VM, but lo and behold, I got a call back within minutes. I explained my situation and they understood. I needed someone to come take a look and give me an idea of what was wrong. They got someone to my house within an hour. Good start!!! Tim arrived and we went out to the unit. He said to go ahead and turn it back on. And OMG much to my embarrassment it was blowing cold air! Tim did take a look. And after we killed off the hornets nesting in the unit, he was able to let me know what the possible issues were. Unfortunately, you can't really fix a unit unless it is broken. So for now it is working. BUT: Tim gave me some great information (1) how to reset the unit and (2) how to know what was wrong once it does stop working. This was well worth a reasonable diagnostic fee. I now have what I need to know when I have to call the HOW. And if they can't help me in a reasonable amount of time I know who to call to fix our unit. And thanks for getting rid of the paper wasps!

Questions & Answers

Is it normal for my heat pump to deliver warm air (not hot) and operates for long periods of time?

Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021
Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021

Yes, this is normal. A heat pump generally produces air that is 80°, which is considered warm and will heat the house evenly. However, 80° may feel cool to your hand, which is usually closer to 90°.

How often should I have maintenance done on my air conditioner?

Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021
Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021

You should have maintenance done on your air conditioning system twice a year. This not only ensures maximum efficiency but also enables us to foresee any possible problems that may occur shortly.

What maintenance should I perform on my air conditioning unit?

Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021
Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021

Changing out your air filter regularly is the primary maintenance you can perform. When talking about ground mounted outdoor units the units will need to be kept clear of debris, which includes any foliage in the area. Additional maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.

How often should I replace my air filters?

Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021
Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021

For peak efficiency, performance and filtration, it is recommended that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.

Is an HVAC system with higher capacity better?

Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021
Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021

In general, no. HVAC systems are the least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient and increasing energy consumption. Another primary function of an air conditioner is to remove humidity from the air and running shorter cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.

How can I increase the lifespan and efficiency of my home’s HVAC systems?

Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021
Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021

As a consumer the most important tasks you can perform involve cleaning and replacement of your filters regularly. Also, shades, drapes, shutters, or screens can be installed on windows that are exposed to extreme sunlight to help reduce temperatures as well.

How do you measure the efficiency of an HVAC system?

Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021
Evergreen Heating & Air LLC | Nov 27, 2021

HVAC systems use a metric called S.E.E.R. (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) when assessing efficiency. S.E.E.R. is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity. For example, a 3-ton unit may have a S.E.E.R. efficiency rating of 13, 14, or 15. The higher the S.E.E.R., which ranges from 13 -17, the more efficient the system will be.
